The British Foreign Office has warned British Citizens thinking about buying property in the Turkish-occupied areas of Northern Cyprus .
They may well run into legal trouble if and when a Cyprus settlement is reached, after all, the properties being sold in the occupied areas are being sold illegally and without their owners permission by crooked estate agents that are offering bogus title deeds.
If a Cyprus solution is reached, it is only natural that the legal owners of the land/property in the north will take all the necessary steps to reclaim what is rightfully theirs.
As you may know, Turkey has plans to join the E.U, however, to be accepted in the E.U certain stipulations have been set: One of the those stipulations states that Turkey must agree to a solution to the Cyprus Problem.
In short, if Turkey want to join the E.U -and they are determined to do so- then a solution to the Cyprus Problem is in the foreseeable future.
The consequences for anyone who has bought property or land in the north could be disastrous since the European Court of Human Rights has made a ruling that affirms the rights of the Greek Cypriots to their property in the North.
